A signed one-of-a-kind Space Age clock, created in 1969—the year humanity first reached the Moon.

This exceptional sculptural mantel / table clock is dated 1969 and represents a signed, one-of-a-kind Space Age object, created in the year of the first Moon landing. The date “1969” is engraved into the ceramic, anchoring the piece both historically and conceptually.

Designed and hand-signed on the reverse by Cunardo Coronetti, the work unites figurative sculpture, studio ceramics, and functional horology into a single, poetic statement of its time.

At the center sits a nude African female musician, finely and naturalistically modeled in copper. She holds a tambourine / frame drum, a powerful symbol of rhythm, repetition, and time. The copper surface shows a warm, authentic patina.

The figure rests on a hand-formed, half-moon ceramic bowl finished in a vivid yellow glaze. The sculptural form evokes a crescent moon or orbital trajectory, directly referencing the optimism and futurism of the late-1960s Space Race. A small recess within the ceramic adds a subtle functional detail without disturbing the sculptural integrity.

Integrated laterally into the ceramic body is a fully functional mechanical alarm clock by Kayser (Germany). Operation is from the rear. Additional stamps and original labels document historic distribution, including Fidass.

This is not merely a clock, but a collectible Space Age sculpture, uniting time, music, and the Moon into a singular narrative object.
